Kids moved out and their bikes collecting dust? Upgraded and don't have space for another bike?
Bring those bikes out of your basements and garages and donate them to Neighborhood Bike Works at the 2016 Philly Bike Expo!
Employing an innovative youth development methodology, NBW is a nonprofit that uses bicycles as a hook to engage 500 youth a year in hands-on, experiential learning. NBW also works with 1500 adults a year through their open shop program, Bike Church.
NBW youth and volunteers will be on hand to take your donations at the Bike Expo valet bike parking center. The first 25 bike donations get one free admission, and every bike donation after that gets a 50% off voucher.
In 2016, Neighborhood Bike Works celebrates their 20th year of engaging and educating Philly youth. NBW was created in 1996 as Youth Cycle & Recycle, a project of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. At the time, many other cities were launching youth bike education programs and advocates in Philadelphia were inspired to create their own. Since then, NBW has introduced thousands of young Philadelphians to the joys and freedom of cycling in the city.
